Why Is Iran Attacking Israel? Here Are The Reason For The Attack

Iran launched an unprecedented aerial attack on Israel, deploying dozens of drones and cruise missiles. This marked the Islamic Republic’s first-ever direct assault on the Jewish state. The motivation behind this strike can be traced back to an incident on April 1, when Israel reportedly bombed an Iranian diplomatic building in the Syrian capital of Damascus. This attack resulted in the death of a senior figure in Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards and eight other officers.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corps labeled their operation as “Operation True Promise” and targeted specific locations in Israel. The initial wave of missiles and drones reached Israel around 2 a.m. local time, triggering sirens and visible explosions across the country. Notably, commercial capital Tel Aviv, the disputed city of Jerusalem, and Dimona (home to Israel’s nuclear plant) were among the apparent targets.

The Iranian strikes caused minor damage to an Israeli base, with only a few missiles falling within Israel’s territory. Most of the missiles launched by Iran were intercepted outside Israel’s borders. Regrettably, there were reports of one child being injured.

In response to the attack, the United States and the United Kingdom assisted Israel in shooting down Iranian drones over Jordan, Iraq, and Syria. Their joint efforts aimed to prevent an uncontrollable escalation of the conflict1. As tensions continue to escalate in the Middle East, the situation remains closely monitored by the international community1. For now, the reasons behind Iran’s aggression toward Israel remain complex and multifaceted, reflecting historical tensions and geopolitical dynamics in the region.
