The film stars Vijay in dual roles, leading an ensemble cast that includes Mohan, Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Sneha, Laila, Jayaram, and Meenakshi Chaudhary.

Initially referred to as Thalapathy 68, this film marks the first collaboration between Vijay and Venkat Prabhu. The official title was unveiled in December 2023. Principal photography commenced in October 2023, with filming locations spanning Chennai, Thailand, Hyderabad, Sri Lanka, Pondicherry, Thiruvananthapuram, and Russia.
