Ghaati Reviews
Ghaati is a gritty Telugu-language action drama that marks Anushka Shetty’s fierce return to the big screen after a two-year hiatus. Directed by Krish Jagarlamudi, the film is set against the rugged backdrop of the Andhra–Odisha border and dives into the dark world of marijuana smuggling. Anushka plays a woman who transforms from a victim of circumstance into a criminal legend, and her performance is the film’s undeniable anchor.
The narrative explores survival, morality, and transformation, though its execution is uneven. The first half builds tension with a few engaging sequences, but suffers from pacing issues. The second half, however, picks up momentum with intense fight scenes and whistle-worthy moments, showcasing Anushka in full “mass mode.” Her screen presence is magnetic, and she commands every frame she’s in.
Supporting performances by Vikram Prabhu and Jagapathi Babu add depth, though some characters feel underutilized. The music by Sagar Nagavelli is serviceable but lacks punch, and the background score is often criticized for being too loud. Visually, the film captures the raw terrain well, but the VFX and editing could have used more polish.
