Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is about Godzilla and Kong facing off against a mysterious threat hidden within the planet, challenging the existence of their species and humanity. The film also explores the origins of the Titans and Skull Island, and the ancient battle that connected them to humans. 

The film follows Kong and his protectors as they search for his true home, accompanied by Jia, an orphaned girl who has a powerful connection with the beast. However, they soon encounter an enraged Godzilla who destroys the world. The first confrontation between the two Titans is instigated by unseen forces, and the film then delves into the mysteries of the planet's core. 

The film is part of the Monsterverse, and is directed by Adam Wingard. It stars Rebecca Hall as Dr. Ilene Andrews, Brian Tyree Henry as Bernie Hayes, and Kaylee Hottle as Jia.
