Ather Energy has launched the Konarc, its new mass-market electric scooter, in India with a starting price of ₹99,999 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). The launch marks Ather's push into a more affordable segment and introduces the company's new EL platform, which is designed to underpin future products.
Ather Konarc Price and Variants
The Konarc S is currently available in three versions:
Konarc S 100: ₹99,999 — 100 km IDC range
Konarc S 125: ₹1,21,999 — 125 km IDC range
Konarc S 161: ₹1,44,999 — 161 km IDC range
Ather also plans a 200 km IDC-range version, while the Konarc Z range will include 125 km and 161 km variants. Prices and availability for these versions will be announced later.
Battery and Performance
The entry-level S 100 uses a 2.1kWh battery, while the S 125 and S 161 get 2.7kWh and 3.5kWh battery packs, respectively. Peak power output stands at 4kW for the S 100 and 4.7kW for the higher variants, with maximum torque rated at 16Nm.
All three currently listed versions have a claimed top speed of 70kmph.
Ather says the Konarc focuses on everyday practicality, with a 1,352mm wheelbase, long-travel suspension and large wheels. The scooter gets a 14-inch front wheel and 12-inch rear wheel, while boot capacity is rated at 31 litres.
Features and Technology
The Konarc comes with a 7-inch dashboard, Ather's connected technology, OTA updates, theft and tow alerts, ride statistics and remote charging-status monitoring. It also introduces features such as MagicKey for convenient access and Ather's electronic braking system.
The scooter uses a metal body and steel unibody chassis, giving it a more conventional family-scooter character compared with Ather's sportier 450 range.
Deliveries to Begin in September
The Konarc S 125 and S 161 are expected to be available initially, with bookings and deliveries beginning in mid-September 2026 in a phased rollout across select states.
The ₹99,999 starting price makes the Konarc Ather's most accessible electric scooter yet. It will compete with mainstream electric scooters such as the TVS iQube and Bajaj Chetak, as Ather looks to attract buyers who are moving from conventional petrol scooters to electric mobility.
