Biography
Rishab Shetty (born Prashanth Shetty on July 7, 1983, in Keradi, Karnataka) is an acclaimed Indian actor, director, producer, and screenwriter best known for his work in Kannada cinema.
He began his career with the film Tuglak (2012) and gained recognition through Ulidavaru Kandante (2014). Rishab made his directorial debut with Ricky (2016), followed by the blockbuster Kirik Party (2016), which earned him the Filmfare Award and SIIMA Award for Best Director. His versatility as both an actor and filmmaker was further highlighted in Bell Bottom and Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana. However, his most defining work came with Kantara (2022), a film he directed and starred in, which became one of the highest-grossing Kannada films and won him the National Film Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role.
Rishab studied commerce at Vijaya College in Bengaluru and later pursued a diploma in filmmaking at the Government Film and Television Institute.
