Biography

Tarsem Singh Jassar (born July 4, 1986, in Jassar village, Ludhiana, Punjab) is an Indian singer, songwriter, actor, and producer who has made a significant mark in Punjabi cinema and music.

He began his career as a lyricist, writing songs for the album Vehli Janta in 2012, before stepping into singing with his debut track Attwadi. His popularity soared with the hit song Galwakdi in 2016, which established him as a household name in Punjabi music. In 2017, Tarsem made his acting debut with Rabb Da Radio, a film that won critical acclaim and showcased his versatility as a performer. He followed it up with Sardar Mohammad (2017), Daana Paani (2018), Afsar (2018), and Rabb Da Radio 2 (2019), cementing his place in Punjabi cinema.

Alongside his artistic career, Tarsem co-founded Vehli Janta Records with fellow artist Kulbir Jhinjer in 2013, a label that has nurtured independent Punjabi talent. Known for his soulful lyrics and socially conscious themes, Tarsem blends traditional Punjabi folk with modern sounds, making his work resonate across generations. He graduated from Mata Gujri College, Sri Fatehgarh Sahib, and continues to be admired for his grounded personality and dedication to Punjabi culture.
