Hyderabad: The Rebel Star is back on set. Prabhas is set to join the ongoing shoot of Sandeep Reddy Vanga's highly-anticipated action drama 'Spirit' tonight at the iconic Mythri Vimal Theatre in Balanagar, Hyderabad. Other cast members, including Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi, who is making his Telugu debut with this film, will also be part of the night schedule.
A Two-Day Schedule at a Landmark Venue
The film's unit took over the 45-year-old single-screen theatre, known for its four-decade legacy in Hyderabad's cinematic history, for a brief but crucial two-day shooting schedule that commenced on June 1. The theatre was recently renovated by the production banner Mythri Movie Makers, transforming it into one of the city's most sought-after single-screen venues.
The shooting involves high-voltage action sequences choreographed by international stunt specialists, aiming to give 'Spirit' a cutting-edge visual appeal. Reports suggest that the action blocks are being designed as raw, realistic hand-to-hand combat sequences rather than heavy VFX-driven portions.
Massive Fan Frenzy at Vimal Theatre
News of Prabhas's participation in the schedule drew thousands of die-hard fans to the Balanagar locality, causing the surrounding streets to be instantly overwhelmed. While this massive turnout is a testament to Prabhas's unrivaled stardom, it forced the producers to deploy heavy private security alongside local law enforcement to ensure the smooth progression of the shoot.
What to Expect from 'Spirit'
Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga of 'Animal' fame, 'Spirit' stars Prabhas as an intense, angry, and uncompromising police officer entangled in a fierce battle against a massive mafia syndicate. The film features Triptii Dimri as the female lead, with Prakash Raj and Kanchana in pivotal roles. The musical score is being crafted by Harshavardhan Rameshwar. Positioned as a pan-world entertainer, 'Spirit' is slated for release next year in eight languages.
