A shocking murder case from Dhar district has created nationwide attention after a woman identified as Priyanka Purohit was arrested for allegedly plotting the murder of her husband with the help of her lover. The case became sensational due to the disturbing motives and the dramatic attempt to mislead police investigators.
According to police reports, Priyanka Purohit and her alleged lover Kamlesh planned the killing of her husband Dev Krishna Purohit in advance. The victim was reportedly stabbed to death at their home in Gondikheda Charan village during the night. Initially, Priyanka told police that unknown robbers had entered the house, looted valuables, and killed her husband when he resisted.
However, investigators soon became suspicious due to several inconsistencies in her statements. During the investigation, jewellery and cash that were claimed to be stolen were found inside the house itself. These discoveries raised doubts about the robbery story and prompted deeper questioning by the police.
Further interrogation revealed that Priyanka and her lover had allegedly hired a contract killer and paid around ₹1 lakh to carry out the murder. Police stated that the plan was created so the couple could continue their relationship without opposition. After mounting evidence, Priyanka reportedly confessed to being part of the conspiracy, while the hired killer remains absconding.
