Strong Advance Booking Boost
The film entered theatres with enormous advance-booking momentum. Reports said Toxic had sold more than 18 lakh tickets before release, generating close to ₹60 crore in advance bookings for Day 1.
The strong pre-sales translated into high occupancy across several markets, with the Kannada original showing particularly strong morning occupancy. The Hindi-dubbed version has also emerged as a major driver of the film's opening.
Can Toxic Cross ₹100 Crore?
The possibility of Toxic crossing the ₹100 crore India net mark on Day 1 had been widely discussed before release. With the film already nearing ₹83 crore by the evening, the milestone remains dependent on the strength of night shows and final reporting.
However, the film's opening is already being described as one of the biggest of the year. Its performance is particularly significant for Yash, marking his theatrical return four years after KGF: Chapter 2.
Despite mixed reactions to the screenplay, pacing and length, Yash's screen presence, action sequences and production values have received considerable praise from viewers.
Final Day 1 figures are still awaited. Based on the latest available numbers, Toxic is firmly on course for a massive opening and could finish its first day close to the ₹90 crore India-net mark.
