Kannada superstar Yash’s mother, Pushpa Arunkumar, has strongly defended her son after veteran Telugu producer Allu Aravind’s old comment questioning the actor’s popularity before the blockbuster KGF franchise resurfaced online. Yash’s Mother Defends His Pre-KGF Success
Speaking at a recent press interaction, Pushpa Arunkumar highlighted that Yash was already an established name in Kannada cinema before KGF transformed him into a pan-India star. She pointed out that her son had delivered five consecutive successful films before the franchise.
Pushpa questioned the suggestion that Yash was an unknown actor before KGF. She also stressed that her son did not come from a wealthy film family and built his career through years of hard work.
“He is the son of a bus driver who rose to the top on his own,” she said, adding that she was proud of her son’s journey.
What Did Allu Aravind Say About Yash?
The controversy goes back to a 2023 remark by producer Allu Aravind, the father of actor Allu Arjun. While discussing rising production costs and star remuneration, Aravind questioned Yash’s standing before KGF.
His “Who was Yash before KGF?” remark was interpreted as suggesting that the enormous scale, production values and visual spectacle of KGF played a major role in creating its blockbuster impact, rather than the film’s success being attributed solely to Yash’s existing stardom.
