Yash’s much-awaited film Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups is creating a major buzz ahead of its worldwide theatrical release on August 26, 2026. While advance bookings have opened strongly in several markets, premium screenings in Mumbai and Bengaluru are attracting attention for their exceptionally high ticket prices, with some Mumbai tickets reportedly touching ₹2,600.
According to recent reports, a premium ticket at Jio World Drive in Bandra, Mumbai, is priced at around ₹2,250 including taxes, while certain shows at Jio World Plaza have tickets reaching ₹2,600. Bengaluru is also seeing premium pricing, with tickets at Forum Rex Walk reportedly costing around ₹2,181 including taxes. Several other multiplexes in both cities are offering premium experiences above ₹1,500.
Strong Advance Booking Response
The high ticket prices have not stopped the early demand for Toxic. The film reportedly sold around 30,000 tickets across PVR INOX and Cinepolis in less than six hours for its Hindi version, putting it among the biggest advance-booking starts of 2026.
Bengaluru has also recorded an impressive response. Cinema Express reported that more than 25,000 tickets were being sold every hour on BookMyShow shortly after bookings opened. Several early-morning shows were filling rapidly, reflecting the excitement among Yash fans.
Premium formats such as IMAX 2D, 4DX and Dolby Cinema are contributing to the higher ticket prices. In Bengaluru, Gold Class tickets for some morning screenings were reported in the ₹1,500–₹1,700 range, while regular multiplex tickets were generally between ₹800 and ₹1,000.
Why Are Toxic Tickets So Expensive?
The unusually high prices are primarily linked to premium theatre formats, luxury seating and high-demand opening-day shows, rather than a uniform ticket price across all theatres. Regular screenings are available at considerably lower rates in several locations.
The strong demand is also being driven by Yash’s return to cinemas following the enormous success of KGF: Chapter 2. The film is directed by Geetu Mohandas and features Yash alongside Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth and Tara Sutaria.
Toxic Release and Expectations
Toxic is scheduled to release worldwide on August 26 in multiple languages. Reports indicate that the film is targeting a release across more than 12,000 screens globally, underlining the scale of its theatrical rollout.
The film has also received an A certificate from the CBFC, with no cuts mandated, although certain word changes and warnings were reportedly requested.
With advance bookings gaining momentum and premium tickets commanding prices of more than ₹2,000, Toxic is clearly entering its release week with substantial audience interest. The real test will come after August 26, when occupancy across regular and premium screens will determine whether the massive pre-release buzz translates into a record-breaking opening.
