Rishab Shetty Confirms Raj B. Shetty and Rakshit Shetty Are Not Part of ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’

Amid growing speculation surrounding the cast and crew of Kantara: Chapter 1, actor-director Rishab Shetty has issued a clear statement to dispel rumors about the involvement of fellow Kannada cinema stalwarts Raj B. Shetty and Rakshit Shetty. In a recent media interaction, Rishab confirmed that neither of the two acclaimed filmmakers has worked on the upcoming prequel to the blockbuster Kantara.

The confusion began after fan pages and social media platforms started circulating unverified claims suggesting that Raj B. Shetty or Rakshit Shetty might be part of the film, either in cameo roles or behind the scenes. Rishab Shetty, who directed and starred in the original Kantara, addressed the rumors directly: “Raj B. Shetty and Rakshit Shetty are not associated with Kantara: Chapter 1 in any capacity. This chapter is being developed by a different team with a distinct creative vision.”

Rishab’s clarification comes at a crucial time, as fans eagerly await updates on the film’s storyline, cast, and release. While Kantara: Chapter 1 is set to explore the mythological origins of the Panjurli Daiva, it is not a direct continuation of the original film’s narrative. Rishab emphasized that the new chapter stands independently and should be appreciated for its unique approach and storytelling.

Both Raj B. Shetty and Rakshit Shetty are currently focused on their own projects, with Raj B. Shetty recently gaining acclaim for Toby and Rakshit Shetty continuing work under his banner, Paramvah Studios. With Rishab’s statement, fans now have clarity on the creative direction of Kantara: Chapter 1, allowing them to set expectations accordingly and support the new team behind the film.
