Apple has unveiled its latest Mac mini, bringing the company's new-generation M6 and M5 Pro chips to its compact desktop lineup. The refreshed Mac mini focuses heavily on artificial intelligence, graphics performance and faster storage while retaining its small desktop form factor. Apple says the M6-powered model delivers up to 40% faster CPU performance, 2x faster graphics and storage, and up to 4x faster AI performance compared with the previous generation.
Mac Mini Price In India
The new Mac mini starts at ₹99,900 in India for the M6-powered model. The higher-end M5 Pro variant is aimed at professional users who need additional processing and graphics capabilities.
Globally, the M6 Mac mini starts at $899, while the M5 Pro model starts at $1,699. Both models are priced higher than their predecessors in the US market.
Mac Mini M6 Specifications
The new M6 chip is built using Apple's 2nm process technology and features a 12-core CPU and 12-core GPU. Apple has focused particularly on AI performance, making the new Mac mini suitable for local AI workloads and other demanding applications.
The company claims the M6 Mac mini offers up to four times faster AI performance, while graphics and storage speeds are up to twice as fast. These improvements are expected to benefit developers, creators and users running demanding productivity applications.
M5 Pro Mac Mini For Professionals
The M5 Pro configuration is designed for more demanding workloads, including professional video editing, software development, graphics-intensive applications and AI processing.
The M5 Pro can be configured with up to an 18-core CPU and 20-core GPU, offering significantly more processing capability for professional users.
Connectivity And Other Features
Apple has upgraded connectivity on the new Mac mini with support for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6. The computer also features 2.5Gb Ethernet, with an optional 10Gb Ethernet upgrade available.
The compact aluminium design remains largely familiar, following the significant redesign introduced with the previous generation. Apple has instead concentrated on upgrading the internal hardware and connectivity.
The new Mac mini also ships with macOS 27 Golden Gate, bringing Apple's latest software features and AI capabilities to the desktop platform.
