Why Is Gold Price Rising Today?

The latest rise in gold prices has been influenced by stronger international bullion prices. Spot gold climbed above $4,400 per ounce, while domestic MCX gold moved towards the ₹1.54 lakh-per-10-gram level.

Internationally, gold prices gained more than 2% on Thursday as the US dollar and Treasury yields weakened. Comments from Federal Reserve Governor Christopher Waller also reduced expectations of an immediate US interest-rate hike, improving investor sentiment towards gold.

City-Wise Gold Rates

Gold prices can vary slightly between cities and jewellers. On September 3, the reported 24K gold price was around ₹1,55,350 per 10 grams in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kolkata, while Delhi was around ₹1,55,500 per 10 grams.

Gold Buyers Should Check Final Jewellery Cost

The quoted gold rates are indicative and generally do not include jewellery-related charges. Customers purchasing ornaments should account for 3% GST, making charges and other applicable costs before calculating the final bill.

With gold prices showing a sharp rebound today, buyers and investors will closely watch international bullion movements, the US dollar, interest-rate expectations and domestic demand for further direction.
