According to police and reports based on the victim’s family’s account, the dispute began on Friday morning over giving medicine to one of the couple’s children. Rekha allegedly left the house after the argument and contacted her family. Around 10 minutes later, several of her relatives reportedly arrived at the residence in Nihal Vihar.

Assault Turns Fatal

Vinay’s mother, who lived with the couple, reportedly stepped out briefly to arrange water and refreshments for the visiting relatives. When she returned, she allegedly found her son being attacked.

The family has alleged that Vinay was punched, kicked and strangled during the assault. His mother reportedly tried to intervene and sought help, but the attack continued. A neighbour eventually helped carry the severely injured man to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Vinay’s family has alleged that the assault was planned, claiming that CCTV cameras inside the house had been switched off before the attack. Police are examining CCTV footage and other evidence to establish exactly what happened and determine the role of each person involved. These allegations have not yet been established in court.

Vinay Was an Adobe Software Engineer

Vinay reportedly worked as a software engineer with Adobe in Noida and earned an annual package of around ₹60 lakh, according to his family. He had been married to Rekha, a homemaker, for approximately three-and-a-half years.

The couple had four-month-old twins — a boy and a girl. The young children are now left without their father as police investigate the circumstances surrounding his death.

Four People Detained

Police have detained Rekha, her two brothers and one sister-in-law in connection with the case. A murder case has been registered under Sections 103(1) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), relating to murder and common intention. Investigators are questioning the suspects and examining evidence to reconstruct the sequence of events.

The victim’s family has made serious allegations about the circumstances of the assault, including claims that the attack was deliberately planned. Police, however, are still investigating and the allegations against the accused will have to be established through the legal process.

The incident has shocked the local community, particularly because a dispute reportedly centred on a seemingly routine matter involving a child’s medicine escalated into fatal violence.
