The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has opened online registration for the Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination, 2026, offering approximately 2,536 tentative Group C vacancies. The recruitment drive is aimed at candidates who have completed Class 12 and are seeking government jobs in various ministries, departments and offices.
The SSC CHSL 2026 notification was issued on September 7, 2026, and eligible candidates can submit their applications through the official SSC website. The application window will remain open until October 7, 2026, at 11 PM.
SSC CHSL 2026: Posts and Vacancies
The recruitment covers several Group C positions, including:
Lower Divisional Clerk (LDC)
Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA)
Data Entry Operator (DEO)
Data Entry Operator Grade 'A'
SSC has currently announced approximately 2,536 vacancies, although the final number may be revised later.
Eligibility Criteria
For most posts, candidates must have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination from a recognised board.
For specific DEO and DEO Grade 'A' posts in certain departments, candidates are required to have passed Class 12 in the Science stream with Mathematics as a subject. Candidates appearing for their Class 12 examination can also apply, provided they obtain the required qualification by October 7, 2026.
The prescribed age limit is 18 to 27 years as on August 1, 2026, with applicable relaxation for candidates belonging to eligible categories under government rules.

Application Fee
The application fee is ₹100 for eligible non-exempted male candidates. Women candidates, SC, ST, PwBD and eligible Ex-Servicemen candidates are exempt from paying the fee.
Candidates must complete the application process through the new SSC website. Those who previously created an OTR on the old SSC website will need to complete a fresh One-Time Registration on the new portal. SSC has also advised candidates to consider Aadhaar-based authentication during registration.

Candidates should visit the official SSC portal, complete the One-Time Registration, log in to their account, select the CHSL 2026 examination and fill in the required details. Applicants should upload the required documents, complete the live photograph and signature requirements, pay the applicable fee and submit the application.
