Plot Overview
Carmeni Selvam tells the heartfelt story of Selvam (Samuthirakani), a hardworking chauffeur who lives a modest life with his wife Shanthi and their young son . As financial pressures and societal expectations begin to mount, Selvam starts supplementing his income by using his employer's vehicle as a taxi service. What begins as a practical solution soon spirals into a cycle of loans, debt, and difficult choices .
Running parallel to Selvam's journey is the story of Sampath (Gautham Vasudev Menon), his wealthy employer. Despite enjoying material success, Sampath battles his own emotional emptiness. Through the contrasting lives of these two men, the film explores profound themes of ambition, economic insecurity, family bonds, and the true meaning of happiness .
