Jannat 3 Confirmed? Vishesh Bhatt Gives Major Update on Emraan Hashmi Film

The long-awaited Jannat 3 could finally be moving closer to reality. Producer Vishesh Bhatt has confirmed that work on the third instalment of the popular Jannat franchise is underway, giving fans of Emraan Hashmi's romantic-crime dramas a major reason to celebrate. The update comes shortly after the theatrical release of Awarapan 2, which hit screens on August 14, 2026.

Speaking to Zoom, Vishesh Bhatt revealed that he is definitely looking at Jannat 3 following Awarapan 2. When asked about the status of the project, he indicated that the scripting process is currently in progress. This suggests that the film is still in the development stage and that an official production schedule or release date has not yet been announced.

The development is particularly exciting for Emraan Hashmi fans because the actor played the lead in both earlier Jannat films. The first movie, Jannat, released in 2008 and featured Hashmi as Arjun Dixit, a young man whose ambition to make quick money through cricket betting takes him into the dangerous world of match-fixing. Sonal Chauhan played Zoya, the woman whose love becomes central to Arjun's journey. The film became a commercial success and developed a strong cult following over the years.

Jannat 2 followed in 2012, again starring Emraan Hashmi in the lead but telling a different story. The franchise was originally conceived as an anthology-style series in which different stories could be explored under the Jannat title. Producer Mukesh Bhatt had previously spoken about plans for further instalments, explaining that each film could focus on a different subject while retaining the flavour of the franchise.

Interestingly, Emraan Hashmi himself had spoken about Jannat 3 in 2024. At the time, he said he would love to return to the franchise but felt that the original creative team needed to come together for it to happen. He described it as a team effort and suggested that a reunion between Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt would be necessary.

The latest statement from Vishesh Bhatt indicates that circumstances may now be changing. His confirmation that the script is being developed represents the strongest recent update on the project. However, Emraan Hashmi's official casting for Jannat 3 has not yet been announced, so fans will have to wait for confirmation from the makers.

The timing of the announcement is also significant. Awarapan 2, another Emraan Hashmi franchise comeback, has opened strongly at the box office, reportedly earning around Rs 66 crore worldwide in its first two days. The film's performance may further encourage the makers to revisit other properties associated with Hashmi.

For now, Jannat 3 remains in the scripting and development stage. If Emraan Hashmi returns as the franchise's central star, the project could mark another major nostalgic comeback for the actor and potentially revive one of Bollywood's most remembered romantic-crime franchises.
